Last month six members of the Clinton County FFA chapter braved the dreaded heat at the Kentucky FFA Leadership Training Center in Hardinsburg, Kentucky. They were joined by twelve other FFA chapters from across the Bluegrass state.
Throughout the week, chapter members attended a variety of workshops and special interest classes in order to strengthen their leadership skills, communication skills, and team fundamentals to use throughout the 2017-2018 school year.
Clinton County FFA Members also were given the opportunity to compete in a variety of sports activities and an opportunity for a short hike to former president, Abraham Lincoln’s home place.
Chapter president, London Honeycutt states, “Our chapter really needed this boost of encouragement and the opportunity to spend time with each other, in order to build relationships and to gain a better understanding of each other and the FFA.
I had a blast this past week, and encourage any active member of the FFA to attend camp, at least one time. I feel that as a chapter we accomplished all of this and learned a lot this past week that can help us in the upcoming year to work and function as an officer team.”
Clinton County FFA would like to congratulate Chapter Reporter (Makenzie Kerney) and Chapter Treasurer (Victoria Honeycutt) as they earned the Top 10% Leadership Award while at camp. FFA Advisor, Ben Prewitt stated, “I could not be more proud of these students trying to better the Clinton County FFA chapter, these kids give their all in everything that they do and with that mindset they can accomplish anything they set their minds to! I am extremely proud of all the FFA Members and excited for a fresh start to the school year.”
Clinton County FFA would like to say a special thank you to Clinton County Farm Bureau for a generous donation that helped send our officers to camp.
We would also like to express our appreciation to superintendent Charlotte Nasief for her continued support of our program. None of our success would be possible were it not for all the support of our hardworking parents and our local community.
