Clinton County ATC is excited to be a part of the new Computer Science Education initiative that is taking place in Kentucky.

Through a partnership between the Kentucky Department of Education, AdvanceKentucky, College Board, and Code.org, support is being provided to districts and/or area technology centers in developing and/or strengthening computer science programs, K-12.

Clinton County ATC is one of seven area technology centers participating in the Computer Science initiative this school year.

Mrs. Holly Claborn attended the Code.org training in Houston, Texas over the summer and is excited about building a quality, robust computer science program at Clinton County ATC that will address critical workforce needs related to computer science knowledge and skills.

The Computer Science Pathway courses focus on computer theory, computing problems and solutions, and design of computer systems and user-interfaces.

The coursework will include instruction in the principles of computational science, computer development and programming and applications to a variety of end use situations.
