O. D. Dowell, 71, Cat and Mouse Rd., Albany, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at The Medical-Center at Albany. He was the son of the late Anita D. Polston Dowell and James Henry and Belva Hayes Dowell. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Arvle, Gene, Herb and E.J. Dowell and three sisters, Rosie Stearns, Katherine Russell and Emmie Philpot.

He is survived by a brother, James (Alice) Dowell; a sister, Alma Bishop, both of Albany; special sister-in-law, Bell Jones; sisters-in-law, Kate Dowell, Flonnie Tapley, Lois Jones and Judy Nelson; brothers-in-law, Bill Russell and Leonard Philpot; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Weldon Haddix Funeral Home with Bros. David Stearns and Donnie Shelley officiating. Final resting place in Craig Cemetery. Arrangements were made through Weldon Haddix Funeral Home of Albany.
