Bulldogs final game on the gridiron is Friday

Clinton County ran into a buzz-saw of sorts Friday night when we traveled to Louisville to take on Holy Cross.

The Dawgs left the Derby City after suffering a 49-24 loss at the hands of the Cougars.

That loss will send Clinton County into the final game of the season, a home appearance on Bulldog Field with a 5-3 record, hoping to stretch that into a 6-3 season for the finale as we take on Jackson County.

The Dawgs will be “stepping up” in competition with this season finale, going up against the Generals, a program that competes on the 3A class level.

Jackson County will take the field Friday night for the game against the Dawgs with a 2-7 season mark. The game will be the regular season finale for both squads.

Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. and be prepared for possible rain at some point during the game. Kick off should see temperatures in the mid-50s, eventually dropping to the mid-40s.

Super Saturday on Bulldog Field

Although Friday night’s game against Jackson County will be the final game on the varsity level for the 2017 season, there is still plenty of action on Bulldog Field ahead – namely the next day.

Super Saturday will feature our Clinton County Little League Football and Cheer programs in action and everyone is invited to get in on the fun and watch these little players and cheerleaders in action.

The players and cheerleaders featured Saturday will someday be the future varsity players we will be following.

The Super Saturday Little League schedule will be:

9:00 a.m. Clinton 5th and 6th Grade vs Russell Co. 1

10:00 a.m. Clinton 3rd and 4th Grade vs Monroe

12:00 noon Clinton 1st and 2nd Grade vs Monroe

12:00 p.m. Clinton 1st and 2nd Grade vs Metcalfe

2:00 p.m. Clinton 5th and 6th Grade vs Russell Co. 2
