Fall sports Big Blue Preview
The 2011-12 school year is well underway now, into its second week of classes, and the fall sports seasons continue – with golf in full swing (pun intended).
Volleyball has just gotten its season underway, soccer is slated for the first game next week.
The Gridiron Dawgs of course get their 2011 football season underway with an opening game this Friday night at neighboring Wayne County, with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff time.
All of that noted, readers will find in this week’s issue our annual look at the fall sports lineup for Clinton County High School, including photos of the teams and squads, as well as individual photos of those players making up the teams.
In addition, the Fall Preview also features coaches’ hopes, outlooks, predictions (to some extent) and some rundowns of what can be expected from the standout players on the squads.
One of the aspects that makes putting together this Fall Sports special section so difficult is the wide range of starting dates involved in the fall lineup of athletics at C.C.H.S., and the fact that the respective game/match schedules aren’t really complete for all of the sports at press deadline. Another factor that is difficult to work around is that in some of the sports involved, such as golf, games are added throughout the season as it progresses, making it hard to keep up with as well.
Still, we’re proud of this special section, and the work that went into it, and we hope our readers enjoy the look at the fall lineup – and we hope you get out to enjoy the effort these young athletes are putting forward to represent our county.
