Monroe County Sheriff Roger Barlow and Constable Robbie Hutcherson, while assisting KSP Trooper Logan Richardson to serve a felony arrest warrant Friday, August 12, instead arrested eight individuals on methamphetamine related charges.
According to reports from both the MCSO and KSP, the officers went to 390 Lebanon Church Road to serve a felony receiving stolen property warrant on William Grider.
According to Barlow, he and Richardson went to the front door of the residence while Hutcherson went to the back to prevent Grider from escaping out the rear. Barlow and Richardson took Grider into custody. However, as they were doing so, Hutcherson reported two individuals running out the back door while another suspect threw something out a rear window.
Hutcherson detained two people who exited the rear of the home and officers subsequently discovered that the items thrown out the window were two active methamphetamine labs. At that point, according to reports, everyone else in the home was detained for questioning while Monroe County Attorney Wes Stephens was contacted to request a search warrant.
After serving the search warrant, officers located several items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine as well as other drug paraphernalia, and three inactive labs in an out building.
