VA officer available

Gary Jones, Veterans Benefit Field Representative for Clinton and surrounding counties, will be in Glasgow at 216 E. Public Square, Lower Level, every day except for the first Tuesday, second Monday, second Thursday and third Monday each month. SODA meetings

The support group, SODA (Survivors of Domestic Violence), meets every Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Clinton County Health Department. For more information call 1-800-755-2017.

Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous group meets each Monday and Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Albany. These meetings are open to anyone wanting to address their drug and alcohol problems.

AA / Al-Anon meetings

AA and Al-Anon will be meeting each Thursday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the basement of the First Christian Church.

SSA Office no longer

visiting Clinton County

The Social Security Administration will no longer be visiting the Clinton County Senior Citizens’s Building on the first and third Tuesday of each month. However, the local office will be able to better serve you. The office is located at 3975 S Highway 27, Somerset, Kentucky. We are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Kentucky Senior Games

Kentucky Senior Games will be September 28 through October 2, 2011 in Murray, Kentucky. Open to all seniors, residents of Kentucky and out-of-state. Individual competition in: Archery, Badminton, Billiards, Bowling, Cycling, Golf, Horseshoes, Racewalk, Racquetball, Shuffleboard, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track and Field, 5K. Team competition in Basketball, Softball, Volleyball. Age divisions as of December 31, 2011: 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80-84; 85-90; over 90. Clinton Drug Forum

The annual Clinton County Drug Forum will be held Friday, August 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Highway Church of the Nazarene on Hwy. 1351. Cordell Hull Pageant

The Cordell Hull Festival Pageant has been scheduled for Saturday, September 17 at the Pickett County K-8 School Gym in Byrdstown, Tennessee. Registration will begin at 2 p.m. with age groups of infant through eight years of age, with the pageant at 3 p.m. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. for age groups nine through 21 years, with the pageants beginning at 6 p.m. The categories will run from Miss Infant–Birth to 12 months up through Miss Cordell Hull for ages 16-21 years. The Clinton County Middle School Site Based Decision Making Council has set the third Monday of each month at 3:45 p.m. for their regular scheduled meetings.

and arrangement sale

A Fall flower and arrangement sale will be held Thursday, August 25 at Clinton County Hospital dining room from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Commission on sales goes to the hospital auxiliary.

VFW & American Legion

to meet

VFW and American Legion will meet Saturday, August 27 at 1 p.m. at the Post Hall on Hopkins Street. All members are urged to attend this special called meeting.

Park Board meeting
