Clinton County ATC was one of 10 schools in the Cumberlands Workforce Development area to receive a $10,000 Entrepreneurship Grant awarded by the Cumberland’s Workforce Development Board.

The Clinton County ATC, the Clinton County School District, and the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce will be partnering to enhance the entrepreneurship curriculum and offerings at the ATC.

Holly Claborn, the Business teacher at Clinton County Area Technology Center, will be providing guidance and support to students as they pursue their dreams of opening their own business.

Student and teacher support will be made available through various opportunities including field trips, teacher professional development, and a makerspace area with a 3D Printer and other items needed to design, experiment, and build the business ideas.

Clinton County students in grades 9-12 will have the opportunity to enroll in an Entrepreneurship course next school year that will grant them the opportunity to start their own “live” business.

Students will go through all the steps of opening up an actual business and then will get to present their “Business Plan” to local community leaders in the Spring of 2019, with top presenters earning scholarship opportunities.

An Entrepreneurship Workshop for adults will also be offered next Spring for adults interested in making their business idea a reality.
