Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Barnette, 65, Newport News, Virginia and formerly of Albany, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and son of the late James WIlliam Barnette. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Alan Barnette and a step-son, Bryan Wolfe.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Barnette, Newport News, VA; his mother, Jessie Barnette, Burkesville, Kentucky; two brothers, Barry (Shirley) Barnett, Burkesville, Kentucky; Mark Barnett and Lois J. Nevels, Albany; two sisters, Karen DuBois, Burkesville, Kentucky; Lois Bishop, Summerville, North Carolina; also several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 2, 2018 at W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home in Newport News, Virginia with final resting place in Danville, Ohio. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Diabetes Association. Online condolences may be made at www.norris-new.com.

Randall H. Pierce

Randall H. Pierce, 78, Louisville, Kentucky and a native of Albany, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy (Ramage) Pierce; his parents, Bill and Marie (Denney) Pierce; a sister, Linda Craig and a niece, Gina Pierce.

He is survived by a brother, Dale (Lynda) Pierce; brother-in-law, Jimmy Craig; nephew, Jamey (Krista) Wade; and also several other nieces and nephews.
