Ernest Guffey, 67, Monticello, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011. He was the son of the late Elvis Guffey, Jr. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, a brother and a sister.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Guffey, Monticello, KY; a daughter Rebecca “Becky” (Jamie) Stearns; a grandson, Mathew Stearns, Albany; his mother, Martha Guffey; two brothers, Junior and Dillard Guffey, Monticello; four sisters, Janet Marlow, Aileene Guffey, Linda Catron, all of Monticello, KY; Caroline Davis, Elkhart, Indiana.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Ragan and Bro. Thomas Fulton officiating. Final resting place in Gap Creek Cemetery in Wayne County. Arrangements made through Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home of Monticello, Kentucky.
