Mary Joyce (Morris) Payton, 67, a native of Georgia and resident of Byrdstown, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at St. Thomas Mid Town Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Wayne and Fannie Head Payton and was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Payton and a sister, Shelma Emory.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Pitman, Tennessee; Rhonda Morris and Shelia Morris, both of Albany; three brothers, Patrick and Tommy Payton, both of Georgia; Robert Payton, Missouri; five sisters, Linda Horwatt, Virginia; Judy Harrell, Myra Pendleton, Deborah Brandenburg, Becky Payton, all of Georgia; six grandchildren, Andrew and Kista Foust, Desirea and Tessa Riddle, Haley Allen, and Cullen Pitman; and six great-grandchildren, Zayne and Enzlee Foust, Salem Foust, Addyson Brumley, Ivan Clark and Damon Shaw.

The family has chosen cremation.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 12 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Albany United Church of the Nazarene.
