On Saturday, May 11, 2018, the Albany Police Department received a complaint of a theft of a utility trailer from a local business in Albany.

Albany Police Officers Mark Bell and Rick Riddle were able to identify Dillon M. Flowers, of Albany and begin to search for Flowers. The search led to a pursuit which was terminated due to the high rate of speed and safety concerns for the public.

After the high speed chase was terminated, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department was notified of an individual driving recklessly in the Duvall Valley area. Deputies Rodney Shelton and Rick Stearns responded to the area and encountered the vehicle traveling southwest at a high rate of speed.

Due to a mechanical error, the suspects vehicle stopped and the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot, but was apprehended a short time late.

On Saturday, May 12, Sheriff Jim Guffey, Albany Police Chief Ernest Guffey and Bell returned to the area to search for the stolen trailer.

The trailer was located in the woods approximately one to two miles away from where the suspect was apprehended the night before.

Along with the recovery of the stolen trailer, a 2012 Kubota tractor was recovered which had been reported stolen in February.

Flowers was not in possession of the trailer during the pursuit, but was later arrested and charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, wanton endangerment in the first degree (police officer), fleeing or evading police in the first degree, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, two counts of reckless driving, fleeing or evading police in the second degree (motor vehicle), and fleeing or evading police in the second degree (on foot).

Flowers is lodged in the Clinton County Jail on $10,000 cash bond.
