Readers of the Clinton County News can expect to enjoy coverage of this week’s ceremony in Washington, D.C. that was to see the late Garlin Murl Conner posthumously awarded the nation’s highest military honor, the Medal of Honor.

President Donald Trump was scheduled to present the Medal of Honor to Conner’s widow, Pauline Conner, during a ceremony that was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at the White House.

Additionally, Conner’s plaque that will be placed in the Pentagon’s Hall of Heroes, was to be unveiled in a separate ceremony at the Pentagon Wednesday morning.

Coverage of the events that honored the Clinton County native and World War II hero will be included in next week’s July 5 issue.
