The annual Clinton County Fourth of July Fireworks Show returns this year at Mountain View Park next Wednesday, but with a different outlook.
According to former Chamber of Commerce President Rick Mercader, the show will start at dark, which is at approximately 9 p.m. Mercader also said this year there will only be the fireworks and nothing else.
Current Chamber of Commerce President Lisa Beard said in the past the Chamber usually helped get the fireworks together for the show, but the last three years the park board handled all the festivities beforehand, like the children’s play area and performances by church groups and the Clinton County Alumni Band.
Beard said there was disappointment throughout the community last year from the lack of a fireworks show, so the Chamber is working to bring the excitement back.
For those wishing to watch the show on Wednesday but skip the crowd at the park, viewers should be able to see the fireworks in town or parked on the bypass.
