This scene spotted last week at the City of Albany Water Department maintenance building is a positive development as a load of several pallets containing new fire hydrants have been delivered and are awaiting installation.

Albany Mayor Nicky Smith said he expected installation to begin in the next week or so, and noted that local motorists should be on the lookout for the next few months for construction crews digging and installing the new hydrants.
