Clinton Grand Jury returns several true bills

The Clinton County Grand Jury convened in regular session on Thursday, June 6 with a heavy case load, returning several indictments, including naming several individuals in multi-count true bills.

The following indictments were handed down in open circuit court in June:

* Danny Hall, that on or about May 15, the defendant committed the following offenses (several being misdemeanors): failure to maintain insurance; failure to comply with helmet law; no registration plates; fleeing or evading police (on foot) first degree; possession of drug paraphernalia; criminal trespass third degree; failure to register or transfer vehicle; no motorcycle license; possession of a controlled substance first degree.

* Jesse Pittman, that on or about April 26, the defendant committed the following offenses (some misdemeanors) of: theft by unlawful taking or disposition; possession of a controlled substance second degree; theft by unlawful taking or disposition, firearm; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; possession of a controlled substance first degree; possession of drug paraphernalia; three counts of persistent felony offender, first degree.

* Matthew Thrasher, that on or about April 21, defendant committed the following offenses (some misdemeanors): possession of a controlled substance first degree; reckless driving; possession of drug paraphernalia; fleeing or evading police-first degree; speeding; possession of marijuana.

* Dillon M. Flowers, that on or about May 11, the defendant committed the offenses (some misdemeanors) of: fleeing or evading police first degree (foot); receiving stolen property; reckless driving; theft by unlawful taking or disposition; fleeing or evading police first degree.

* Ernest W. Hall, that on or about May 8, the defendant committed the following offenses (some misdemeanors) of: assault third degree; harassing communications; terroristic threatening third degree; resisting arrest.

* Melissa D. Leavell, that on or about May 15, the defendant committed the offenses (some misdemeanors) of: promoting contraband first degree; possession of drug paraphernalia (two counts); possession of a controlled substance first degree.

* Michael Kimes, that on or about April 25, the defendant committed the offenses of escape second degree; tampering with prisoner monitoring device; two counts of persistent felony offender second degree.

* Chad E. Leavell, that on or about May 15, the defendant committed the offenses (some misdemeanors) of: tampering with physical evidence; possession of a controlled substance first degree; possession of drug paraphernalia.

* Adam L. Smith, that on or about November 7, 2017, defendant committed the offenses of arson first degree (in relation to a fire at the Clinton County Jail and criminal mischief first degree.

* Ricky W. Phillips, that on or about May 15, defendant committed the offenses (one felony, one misdemeanor) of: possession of a controlled substance first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.

* Josh Davis, that on or about May 10, the defendant committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance first degree.

* Chad Long, that on or about October 20, 2016 through June 7, 2018, the defendant committed the offense of flagrant non-support.
