During the month of August, 2011, there were 33 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were five fatalities during the month of August in the Post 15 area:

Buis, Timothy; of Liberty, KY, was killed in Casey Co., KY on 08/05/11.

Perry, Bobby C.; of Springfield, KY, was killed in Washington Co., KY on 8/24/11.

Mattingly, James Jr.; of Lebanon, KY, was killed in Marion Co., KY on 8/28/11.

Mattingly, James III; of Lebanon, KY, was killed in Marion Co., KY on 8/28/11.

Hagan, William; of Lebanon, KY, was killed in Marion Co., KY on 8/30/11.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 26 compared with 14 through this same period in 2010.

Statewide fatality count stands at 456 compared with 506 through this same period in 2010.

During the month of August, 2011, there were 1276 citations written, 494 courtesy notices written, 1823 vehicles inspected, 806 complaints answered, 104 motorists assisted, 69 criminal cases opened and 244 criminal arrests made.
