2018 campaign begins Friday in Fort Knox,

Meet the Bulldogs is moved

Our Dawgs head north this weekend to take on the Eagles of Fort Knox in what has become a traditional season kick-off game.

Clinton County hosted the Eagles last season to get the year off on a great start with a 40-18 win.

This Friday night the Bulldogs will be headed to the Louisville area for the opening game of the year hoping to repeat and grab a 1-0 start on this 2018 campaign as well.

There has been a little confusion about the kick-off time due to a couple of changes that have been made on the KHSAA official site, but word came Tuesday morning from Nick Irwin, Athletic Director at Clinton County High School, that Friday night’s contest is slated to get underway at 6:30 p.m. central time.

Fort Knox plays in Kentucky’s 1A class.

Meet the Bulldogs moved to August 25

The Bulldogs will return home after Friday night’s season opener and take a break without games with an open date on the schedule for the next Friday night, August 24.

The Bulldogs won’t be back in game-action until the last Friday night in August, when we play host to the Raiders of McCreary Central High School.

Local Big Blue fans will still get the chance to get in a Bulldog fix next weekend however, with the Meet The Bulldogs at Bulldog Field.

Although the event was originally slated to be held this week, scheduling conflicts forced organizers to look for another date, eventually landing on Saturday, August 25, for the meet and greet gathering.

Slated to get underway at 6:00 p.m., the annual tailgating event will give fans the chance to become more familiar with the players, cheerleaders and the band we will be following this season, with introductions being the main course on the menu.

Also featured during the Meet the Bulldogs event will be the sale of concessions (for those who choose not to fire up a grill and tailgate), the sale of 2018 Bulldog t-shirts, team programs, face painting, games including the dunking booth and finally a night ending bon-fire that will be lit by this year’s seniors.

Should be a great night for what will hopefully be another great season.

In the meantime – let’s take it outside for a few months!
