Nice start Dawgs!

The Bulldogs got things off to a great start Friday night with a big 52-6 win over the Eagles of Fort Knox.

Clinton County’s Chase Stines led the Dawgs from the quarterback spot Friday night to the lop-sided win over Fort Knox with 11 of 21 pass completions for 103 yards and two touchdowns.

Other scoring came on four touchdowns from Noah Pruitt, who finished with 194 yards rushing on the night, a touchdown by Ryan Hill and two point conversions by Parker Tallent and Nathan Brown.

Clinton County will have a week off this week, taking exception with hitting the field on Saturday night for the annual Meet the Bulldogs event – see below for more details.

Up next, the Dawgs will play host to the McCreary Central Raiders on Friday, August 31.

The Raiders fell to Perry County Central this past Friday night in a lop-sided finish with a final score of 48-18. McCreary will be traveling to Clinton County on August 31 after facing South Laurel this coming Friday night, August 24.

Meet the Bulldogs is Saturday night

After being moved due to scheduling conflicts earlier in the season, the annual chance for local fans to get to know our Bulldogs better will be the featured event in Albany this Saturday night.

Local Big Blue fans will get the chance to get up close and personal with the football team with the Meet the Bulldogs at Bulldog Field.

Slated to get underway at 6:00 p.m., the annual tailgating event will give fans the chance to become more familiar with the players, cheerleaders and the band we will be following this season, with introductions being the main course on the menu.

Also featured during the Meet the Bulldogs event will be the sale of concessions (for those who choose not to fire up a grill and tailgate), the sale of 2018 Bulldog t-shirts, team programs, face painting, games including the dunking booth and finally a night ending bon-fire that will be lit by this year’s seniors.

There’s been a hint of fall in the night air this week, so get out and get ready for a great gridiron season at Bulldog Field.

Big Blue Preview this week

Surely you’ve noticed by now, but this week’s Clinton County News is thicker than usual, with the inclusion of the annual Fall Sports Big Blue Preview

Because of the greatly staggered schedules we deal with in the fall lineup, this section is the most challenging we produce, but still, I’m confident that it provides a ton of information for you local sports fans to use in order to get more familiar with the young athletes we’ll be supporting and talking about for the next several weeks.

Credit for the section’s content goes to Brett Gibson and Amanda Sharpe, who have both been working for several weeks now to put it out. We hope you find it informative and enjoy perusing it.
