According to news media reports, on Tuesday, November 27 at approximately 2:37 p.m., the Campbellsville Police Department responded to an automobile collision on KY 55 in the area of Swan’s Landing in Taylor County.

A 2017 GMC Yukon operated by 50-year-old Kathy Begley of Campbellsville was stopped on KY 55 waiting to make a left hand turn into Swan’s Landing when a 2003 Dodge dually pickup, operated by 29-year-old John Yoder of Columbia, who was pulling a goose neck trailer loaded with logs, failed to see several vehicles stopped in front of him, waiting for Begley to turn.

Yoder struck a 2007 Chevrolet Impala in the rear, operated by 48-year-old David R. Coop of Albany, which caused a chain reaction collision.

The Coop vehicle, which was a taxi owned by Smith’s Taxi LLC in Albany, then struck a 2003 Honda Element operated by 30-year-old Sarah A. Hedgespeth of Greensburg, causing the Hedgespeth vehicle to strike Begley’s vehicle, which was stopped waiting to turn.

Coop’s vehicle (taxi) was carrying passengers, including 55-year-old Rosa A. Muse, 61-year-old Earl W. Muse, and 31-year-old Steven K. Taylor, all of Burkesville.

All parties involved in the collision, except Yoder, were transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by Campbellsville-Taylor County EMS.

A three-year old in the Hedgespeth vehicle was later transferred by EMS to Norton’s Hospital in Louisville and Taylor was pronounced dead at Taylor Regional Hospital.
