Several family members and friends were on hand last week to witness the swearing in of newly elected County Clerk Nathan Collins. Serving as Clerk following the unexpected death this fall of Clinton County Clerk Shelia Booher, Collins, a long-time deputy clerk, filed as a write-in candidate and won the office in the November 6 general election on the Republican ticket, to face Democrat nominee Dan Thomas.

Some of those attending last week’s swearing in ceremony are shown in the photo above, left to right: Rachel McFall (fiancé of Clerk, Nathan Collins), Nathan Collins, Clinton County Clerk, Lilly Hardin (niece of clerk), Circuit Judge David L. Williams, Hollie Stone (aunt of clerk), Charlotte Collins (mother of clerk), Cathy Hardin (aunt of clerk), Hayden Hardin (nephew of clerk), Ricky Collins (father of clerk), Rachael McGill (cousin of clerk), Mariah Hardin (sister of clerk), and Jim Elmore, former Clinton County Clerk.

Collins was sworn into office earlier than normal as he will be away enjoying his honeymoon when the traditional swearing in ceremony for county office holders is held.
