In what is thought to be the largest confiscation of methamphetamine ever in Monroe County, anonymous tips led to the arrest of two persons Tuesday evening, December 18, on Crabtree Road in the Bugtussle community.

According to arrest records from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Sheriff Dale “Frog” Ford and Monroe County deputies, along with officers from the Tompkinsville Police Department, Macon County (Tennessee) Sheriff’s Department, Monroe County Constable Shawn Ford and Probation and Parole Officer Chase Collins, conducted a “knock and talk” at 61 Crabtree Lane in response to numerous complaints concerning suspected drug activity at that residence.

On arrival, officers located Aaron Hoskins, 30, of Lafayette, Tennessee inside the garage. Hoskins became combative and was placed in custody. A search warrant was provided and upon entry the officers located over 500 grams of what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine, items used to package the illegal drug for resale, various other items of drug paraphernalia and multiple weapons.

While on scene, Lauren N. Hagan, 26, of Gamaliel, arrived at the scene and admitted to officers that she currently lived at the residence.

She was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth) first offense, greater than two grams.

Hoskins was charged with first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth) first offense, greater than two grams; first degree possession of controlled substance (meth); possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; third degree assault of a police officer and resisting arrest.

Hagan and Hoskins were both lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.

“This is the biggest meth bust we’ve ever seen in Monroe County,” Sheriff Ford said.

“I’m very pleased with the way that multiple agencies were able to work together to get this garbage off the streets. Our investigation is ongoing at this time, and I expect more arrests will be made.”
