Grand Jury hands down several indictments

The grand jury handed down several other indictments during its regular monthly session last week, several being multi-count true bills involving both felony and misdemeanor charges.

The following indictments were handed down last week and are felony charges unless otherwise noted:

* Daniel J.. Cappiello, 48, the alleged offenses of possession of a controlled substance (three counts), Class B misdemeanors; possession of drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance third degree (three counts); failure to maintain insurance, Class B misdemeanor; operating a motor vehicle on suspended or revoked license (misdemeanor); possession of a controlled substance first degree; operating a motor vehicle under the influence; trafficking in a controlled substance first degree, first offense; possession of marijuana, Class B misdemeanor; trafficking in marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.

The alleged offenses occurred on or about January 2.

* Danny K. Neal, 48, the alleged offenses of resisting arrest, Class A misdemeanor; assault third degree (two charges; two counts of persistent felony offender; escape first degree.

The alleged offenses occurred on December 3 and December 7, 2018.

* Phillip L. Stevens, Jr., 20, the alleged offenses of burglary third degree and theft by unlawful taking or disposition.

The alleged offenses occurred on or about November 15, 2018.

* Cotie W. Rhea, 20, the alleged offenses of complicity to theft by unlawful taking over $500 and complicity to commit burglary in the third degree.

The alleged offenses occurred on or about November 15, 2018.

* Michael S. Hensley, 21, the alleged offenses of complicity to commit burglary third degree and complicity to theft by unlawful taking over $500.

The alleged offenses occurred on or about November 15, 2018.

* Darrell Murphy, 44, the alleged offense(s) of criminal possession of a forged instrument (10 counts).

The alleged offenses having occurred over a period of time from September 10 through October 21.

* Jason Hanna, 42, the alleged offense of assault in the second degree.

The alleged offense occurred on or about October 28, 2018.
