SODA meetings

The support group, SODA (Survivors of Domestic Violence), meets every Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Clinton County Health Department. For more information call 1-800-755-2017.

Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous group meets each Monday and Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Albany. These meetings are open to anyone wanting to address their drug and alcohol problems.

AA / Al-Anon meetings

AA and Al-Anon will be meeting each Thursday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the basement of the First Christian Church.

VA officer available

Veterans Service Officer Earl Claborn is available to help veterans and their families with VA benefits. The office is located in the Clinton County Community Center. Office hours are Monday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information call 606-387-9447.

Little Hills accepting
donations

Little Hills of Kentucky Animal Rescue, Inc. is accepting donations for the Rollercoaster Yard Sale September 30 and October 1. All donations are tax deductible and free local pick-up is available. Middle School SBDM meeting dates and times

The Clinton County Middle School Site Based Decision Making Council has set the third Monday of each month at 3:45 p.m. for their regular scheduled meetings.

Vendor booths available for Heritage Days

Group fitness classes

The following group fitness classes will be offered at the Wellness Center the remainder of this month: Thursday, Sept. 22: Cycling for all, 5-6 p.m.; Zumba, 6:15-7:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24: Zumba, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26: Cycling for all, 5-6 p.m.; Zumba, 6:15-715 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27: Beginner Step, 5-6 p.m.; Cycling for all, 6:15-7:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29: Cycling for all, 5-6 p.m.; Zumba, 6:15-7:15 p.m. Cycling for all; Beginner Step Aerobics classes are free with membership and offered to Center members only. Zumba classes are $2.50 per class for members and $5 per class for non-members.

VA Rep available

Veterans and their families seeking benefits in south central Kentucky will now be able to find help and advice at a central location. Gary Jones, the Veterans Benefits Field Representative for Clinton and surrounding counties, will be in Glasgow at 126 E. Public Square, Lower Level, every day except for the first Tuesday, second Monday, second Tuesday, second Thursday and third Monday of each month. Class of ‘91 reunion

The Class of 1991 will be having its 20 year reunion on Saturday, October 15 from 7-11 p.m. at the Lighthouse Restaurant. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $25 per couple or $13 per individual. to meet

Project Graduation will meet Monday, September 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the high school cafeteria. All seniors and parents are urged to attend. New officers will be elected for the 2011-12 school year.

The following fall classes will be offered at Eli’s on the Square in Albany beginning next week.

Fall Christmas Ornament Classes: Tuesdays, Sept. 27 and Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 5:30-7 p.m. Price: $10 (includes everything needed for the class.)

Pamper Yourself Workshop: Thursday, Sept. 29, 5:30-7 p.m. Price: $8 per person.

Jewelry With a Medera Twist: Thursday, October 6, 5:30-7 p.m. Price: $10 (includes everything needed for one project.)

Foothills Festival
Pumpkin Carving Contest

Pumpkins must be registered at the Foothills Festival building between10:00 -5:00, Friday, October 14th. Judging will take place on Saturday, October 15th winners will be announced at the Lip Sync. 1. Age categories will be: 11-17 and 18 and up. 2. One first, second and third prize winner will be selected in each age category. First place winners in each age division will win $25. Second place will win $15 in each age division. Third place winners in each age division will win $5. 3. Pumpkins may not be larger than 2’x2’x2’. 4. Pumpkins entered may be reclaimed after the contest. Those not reclaimed by Sunday, October 16th will be removed. 5. Each entry must have a title. 6. Entrants must provide candles for lighting.

Archery team parent meeting

The Clinton County Bulldog Archery Team will have a parent meeting Monday, September 26 at 4:30 p.m. at the AES gymnasium.

Family Literacy family night

Clinton County Family Literacy will be having family night Thursday, September 22 at 5 p.m. at the Early Childhood Center lunch room. There will be a guest speaker and literacy activities. For information call Amy Abner or Eddie Tallent at 387-6648.

2011-12 Senior Carnival

Bluegrass Stockyards of Albany is a proud supporter of the 2011-12 Senior Carnival. Come on out Saturday, October 1 and help support our seniors! Come and try to ‘win’ a black heifer calf, donated by Bluegrass Stockyards of Albany. For more information about the calf, call 387-5569 or see a senior going on the trip. There will be food, fun, prizes and games for all ages. Try your hand at ring toss, corn hole, duck pond, and other fun activities. See if you can dunk your favorite principal in our dunking booth! Use your muscles to make the biggest dent in our Beat up a Clunker car! Take a hayride or fire truck ride! The seniors would like to invite everyone to come out and join in the festivities and become a part of Senior Class history! There will be lots to see and do; something for everyone of all ages!
