Wayne County Jail escapee located and arrested in Pulaski County

On Saturday, September 17, 2011 at approximately 8:53 AM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, was notified that Terry L. Stringer II had escaped from custody at the Wayne County Detention Center in Wayne County, KY.

On Monday, September 19, 2011 at approximately 9:21 AM, KSP Trooper Sean Dixon, following up on an anonymous tip, located Terry L. Stringer II, 37, of Somerset, as a passenger in a vehicle on Spring Dale Avenue in Somerset, according to a press release from Kentucky State Police Post 11 Public Affairs Officer, Don Trosper.

Trooper Dixon initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, at which time Stringer fled on foot. Stringer was arrested, after a short foot pursuit, on the charges of Escape 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest.

Stringer was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.

The driver of the vehicle was not charged in the incident.

Trooper Dixon is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by Trooper Chris Ison and Trooper John Barnett.
