Columbia Mayor Mark Harris and Adair County Judge/Executive Ann Melton cordially invite everyone to an event “For Those Who Gave All” in recognition of Medal of Honor recipient Marine Sgt. Dakota Meyer on Sunday, October 2 at 2 p.m. CDT at Lindsey Wilson College’s Blue Raider Stadium.

Sergeant Meyer will be honored in public ceremonies as part of “Sergeant Dakota Meyer Week” on October 2. The ceremonies will include a parade around downtown Columbia that will lead Sgt. Meyer to Lindsey Wilson’s Blue Raider Stadium. The public is encouraged to watch along the parade route then come to the stadium for the program.

The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of KY 55 North and Veterans Memorial Highway (Columbia Bypass), travel through downtown Columbia, up Jamestown Street and onto Russell Road leading to Blue Raider Stadium.

At 2 p.m. Mayor Harris and Judge Melton will honor Sgt. Meyer.

A meet and greet as well as photo opportunities with Sgt. Meyer will be provided from 3 to 4 p.m. “For Those Who Gave All” t-shirts will be available for sale, with all proceeds going to Sgt. Meyer’s Scholarship Fund.
