An accident occurred Thursday afternoon around 3 p.m. on US 127 that involved six people. Stacy D. Smith was driving a ‘98 Jeep north on US 127 when she attemped to pull into Craft’s Car Wash. A ‘98 Toyota driven by Thurman Barnes was traveling south on US 127 on what is actually considered the shoulder of the highway, when the two vehicles collided head on. Thurman had four passengers in his vehicle and all were treated and released. Albany Police Detective Johnny Garner worked the wreck and told the NEWS that Smith was later arrested for failure of non-owner to provide insurance.
