Congrats to Jax

By now you should have noted a front page article noting that Clinton County basketball standout Jackson Harlan had yet another accolade come his way last week.

The Lexington Herald Leader named Jackson to the First Team All-State Boys’ Basketball Team. As far as anyone can tell/remember, it is the first time that Clinton County High School has had a player named to the First team in the boys’ division.

In case you missed it, take a look at the article and enjoy some of the history David Cross and myself put together about former basketball standout Bulldogs who made various All-State lists.

If you know of someone we missed with that list, let me know and I’ll give proper notice in this space in the future.

In any event, congrats are certainly in order to Jackson on this achievement. Of course, it also goes that congratulations are certainly in order for Jackson’s teammates for their support of him this season, as well as to his parents, Sheldon and Jennifer.

Softball, baseball in “full swing”

Although we’re still watching a little roundball on the NCAA level for the next couple of weeks, local sports action is still available for those who want to get out and support our spring sports athletes – Bat Dawgs, Lady Bat Dawgs and Racket Dawgs.

Check out the schedules that were in last weeks’ Spring Sports Preview and take an afternoon to enjoy some spring weather and some great action by our young people who wear the blue and white in the spring.

I’m in the Sports Room (watching NCAA), don’t call me until April!
