The Albany Independent League kicked off its season Saturday morning with the annual parade through town. The league board decided not to hold the traditional opening ceremonies as in past years, but instead decided to keep the parade to showcase the upcoming season with a ride though town. This year’s league has more than 250 athletes in several different age groups with softball and baseball combined.
