Danny Hill of Jamestown was formally sentenced September 13 for his involvement in a local 2006 murder.

For facilitation to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence, Hill was sentenced to five years incarceration for each count for a total of ten years to serve. He received credit for time served, which is approximately 300 days.

The charges and ultimate conviction of Hill stem from his participation, along with Stephen W. Williams of Russell Springs, in the December 16, 2006 murder of Paul Montgomery of the Bryan Community.

The case had been considered a “cold case” until new information led to the identification of witnesses and the seizure of evidence in early 2010 which helped investigators present the case to the Russell County Grand Jury.

Williams is under indictment for murder and remains in the Russell County Detention Center awaiting trial.
