Good Neighbors Theatre is proud to present “Everyone Loves Opal” .

Scheduled performances will be at Good Neighbors Theatre 8780 Hwy 111, Byrdstown, TN. on October 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, at 7:30 pm and October 23 at 2:30 pm.

The GNT Board Members are dedicating the production of “Everyone Loves Opal” to the memory of long time board member, Alice Maiwald.

All seats are $10, and will soon be available for advanced purchase at Business Express in Byrdstown, TN, Ph. 931-864-7999.

The play is by Dramatists Service Inc. and directed by Melva Nunnery.

The story of the production focuses on the life of Opal Kronkie (played by Linda Crouch), as a middle-aged recluse. She lives in a tumbledown mansion at the edge of the municipal dump.

The general disarray of her home is aggravated by the fact that Opal collects things-anything that can be toted home in her little red wagon.

Opal is also an optimist, for no matter how mean her lot-or her “friends” -Opal responds with unfailing kindness and an abiding faith in the goodness of human nature. Into her rather strange world comes Gloria, Bradford and Solomon, three cons selling bogus perfume that are running from the authorities.

Opal’s habitat is the perfect hideout-and Opal, herself, might be the remedy for their shattered finances.

They decide that what she needs is plenty of insurance, a rapid demise, and three beneficiaries named Gloria, Bradford and Solomon. Cast Members include:

Linda Crouch, Byrdstown, TN as Opal Kronkie, Amanda Hatfield, Burkesville, KY as Gloria Gulock. Louis Davis, Byrdstown, TN as Bradford Winter, Danny Thomas, Albany, KY as Solomon Bozo, Marica Lee, Byrdstown, TN as Doctor, Brian Cross, Byrdstown, TN as Officer Jankie.

GNT wishes to take this opportunity to acknowledge all of the contributions received in memory of; Lt. Col. John S. Williams, Shirley Kichen, Bill Wilborn, Sr., Wanda Crouch, Alice Maiwald and Toots Smith. As always, all donations are appreciated.
