A local teen was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Metcalfe County Monday afternoon, June 24.

At approximately 12:26 p.m., the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a vehicle collision on KY 90, approximately 4.5 miles east of the Beaumont community.

The investigation revealed that Kendra N. Moore, 18, of Burkesville, was operating a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire westbound on KY 90. Bryan K. Hale, 54, of Tompkinsville, was operating a 2016 Dodge pickup traveling east on KY 90. As the two vehicles entered a curve from opposing directions, Moore was traveling too fast for the road conditions, lost control of her vehicle and crossed the center divider line into the eastbound lane.

Moore’s vehicle then collided with Hale’s vehicle in the eastbound lane. Upon impact, Moore was ejected from her vehicle. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Moore was transported to T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow where she was pronounced deceased.

Hale refused treatment at the scene.

The collision is under investigation by Deputy Lonnie Hodges. Barren County EMS and Summer Shade Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
