The Clinton County Grand Jury convened in regular session on Thursday, July 11 and returned indictments in open circuit court against seven individuals, most of which contained multi-count charges.
The following true bills were handed down by the grand jury this month:
* Bobbielee Coldren, 23, and Eddie W. Bowman, 19, for alleged criminal abuse first degree or complicity to criminal abuse first degree and assault first degree or complicity to assault first degree.
Count one stated that on or about January 24, through February 14 of this year, the defendants, acting alone or in complicity with each other, committed first degree criminal abuse, a Class felony, when they caused serious physical injury to a minor child in a situation that caused serious physical injury and/or torture, cruel confinement or cruel punishment to their minor child of whom they had custody or when their minor child was in their care.
Count II of the true bill alleges the defendants committed assault first degree while acting alone or in complicity with each other, causing serious physical injury to the child…manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life they wantonly engaged in conduct which creates a grave risk of death…to a minor child.
* Teddy Davis, 27, the alleged offenses of trafficking in a controlled substance first degree-first offense, Class D felony, possession of a controlled substance not in original container (misdemeanor), possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), possession of marijuana (misdemeanor), public intoxication (misdemeanor), and possession of a controlled substance first degree, Class D felony. The alleged offenses having occurred on or about May 24.
* Billy Kennedy, 30, the alleged offenses of theft by unlawful taking or disposition (auto, more than $500 but less than $10,000), Class D felony and two counts of second degree persistent felony offender. The alleged offense having occurred on or about August 3, 2018 through October 1, 2018.
* Kensey M. Pruitt, 21, the alleged offenses of promoting contraband first degree, Class D felony, by concealing drugs and other items while being lodged in the Clinton County Jail, and possession of a controlled substance first degree, Class D felony. The alleged offenses having occurred on or about March 15.
* Flinton Thacker, 49, the alleged offenses of flagrant nonsupport and persistent felony offender second degree, the alleged offense having occurred on or about April 2, 2013 through July 11, 2019.
* Lonnie Dean Kennedy, 59, the alleged offense of theft by unlawful taking or disposition (auto, over $500 but less than $10,000), Class D felony. The alleged offense having occurred on or about August 3, 2018 through October 1, 2018.
