Clinton County Fiscal Court held a brief call meeting last Wednesday morning, October 5 with all present except Magistrate Charlotte Bernard, who was attending the boys’ state golf tournament, where her son was a participant. Only a couple of items of business were on the agenda.
The court approved first reading of the Magisterial Reapportionment and Mapping ordinance. It was noted that a portion of the first district, whose magistrate is Phillip Parrigin, extended into a wooded area but apparently that was necessary to conform with aligning each district by population, as required following each U.S. Census.
The court also heard a treasurer’s report by treasurer Dallas Sidwell and approved a fund transfer.
Without taking action, the court also discussed cleanup along rural highways and also around voting houses prior to next month’s election. Also, the voting house at Cave Springs, which is in poor condition and may have to be replaced some time after the next election.
Judge/Executive Lyle Huff also announced that the special call meeting of Wednesday, October 12 at 8:30 a.m. would be basically switched to the court’s regular meeting this month, which was originally slated for October 20. Second reading of the Magisterial Reapportionment and Mapping ordinance was also slated to be held, along with other regular business items.
The meeting on Wednesday morning was too late for press deadline and complete details of both the regular meeting and the Magisterial Reapportionment plan will be published in next week’s Clinton County News.
