Rachel Sawyers held her annual Lemonade for St. Jude stand recently during the 127 Yard Sale. This year with lots of help and hard work Rachel exceeded last year’s goal and raised $1513.76.

This year Rachel and her friends raised enough money to have two bricks placed in the Pathway of Hope at St Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis Tennessee. One of the bricks has been reserved in tribute to Brianna Kathleen Wofford on her 10th birthday. The other brick has been reserved in tribute to Dannah Glee Dalton. The 50th Anniversary Commemorative Bricks will be installed beside the Danny Thomas/ALSAC Pavilion in the fall of 2012.

Rachel rallied several friends from Clinton, Pickett, and Warren counties to help her work the stand. She would like to thank Abbi Young, Casey and Christian Shelton, Dalton Gregory, Makaya Gregory, Chase Gibson, Reagan Thrasher, Bobbianne Key, Emily Shelton, Alex and Jason Garrert, Seanae York, Peyton Ferry, Matt, Lexie, and Ina Daniel and her sister, Emily, for all their hard work in supporting her worthy cause.

She would also like to thank everyone who stopped by to contribute to the children of St. Jude. The group would like to send a special thank you to the top contributors Charlie Stearns and Mr. Nate Pennycuff. Also, a special thank you goes out to Rita Miller, shown below with Rachel and several of her lemonade stand team members, and the staff at the First and Farmers Bank for the hospitality shown to the group when obtaining the cashier’s check for St. Jude.

Plans are already underway for next year’s Annual Rachel’s Lemonade for St Jude event.
