Paul Hunley recently celebrated his 95th birthday at a gathering with some friends at the Albany McDonald’s restaurant, and was honored for his World War II service.

Seventy-five years ago, as a 19 year-old Army combat soldier, Paul Hunley landed on Omaha Beach during the June 1944 D-Day Normandy Invasion.

Hunley survived the Normandy Invasion and went on to fight in many other campaigns during World War II until Germany’s surrender. He was discharged in December, 1945.

Hunley still works six days a week at his business, Hunley’s Garage, located on the Burkesville Road.

Paul Hunley is shown enjoying a gathering on his 95th birthday with friends Gay Latham, Lala Haddix and Joann Talbott.
