Dawgs head to Tompkinsville after an open break

The gridiron Dawgs are back in action this Friday night as they head a couple of counties over to the west to take on the Falcons of Monroe County.

Coach Rocky Tallent and Company were off last Friday night with a break in the schedule and will get back in action against the Falcons as we take our 1-1 record to Monroe for our first district matchup in several years, now that we’re back in the district competition.

The Falcons will be playing host for the 7:00 p.m. kickoff game and will be bringing a 1-3 record into the contest, having lost last Friday night to Glasgow, 52-6.

In the only game so far against an opponent Clinton County has faced, the Falcons lost 33-0 to Clay County, Tennessee. Clinton County fell 25-0 to Clay County.

After Friday night’s game against Monroe, the Dawgs will be coming home for the first game this season on Bulldog Field, playing host to yet another district opponent, the Metcalfe County Hornets on September 27.

Good luck Dawgs Friday night in looking for a victory against the Falcons.

Volley Dawgs are quick to bounce back

One sure sign of a true champion is how fast they bounce back after taking a loss or two.

For our Volley Dawgs, licking wounds never entered the picture.

After picking up two wins at the All “A” Classic state tournament last weekend in Richmond to advance to the championship brackets, the Volley Dawgs fell to Christian Fellowship to be eliminated from play.

Falling out of the All “A” didn’t dampen the Volley Dawgs’ spirits for long.

They returned to our home floor Monday night to take a 3-0 run against Region 4 opponent Metcalfe County.

The Volley Dawgs are currently third in the standings among 4th Region teams, barely behind Greenwood and Logan County.

Congrats are certainly in order for our Volley Dawgs on their All “A” Classic state tournament performance.

In the meantime – let’s take it outside for a few months!
