On Thursday, October 3, Pickett County Criminal Court Judge Gary McKenzie sentenced a Livingston man for aggravated burglary involving a Pickett County residence.
Sean Boles, 47, of Livingston, was sentenced to serve nine years, three months to be imprisoned in the Tennessee Department of Corrections for the offenses that were committed in Pickett County in April 2019.
Pickett County Deputy Kevin Conner investigated the burglary.
Additionally, Boles was sentenced to a concurrent four years for unlawful possession of a firearm, as well as concurrent 11 months and 29 day sentences for driving on a revoked license and simple possession of a controlled substance.
Those cases were investigated by Trooper Darren Butler of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
During sentencing, Judge McKenzie told Boles he considers property offenses to be very serious offenses because real people are victims of property crimes. Judge McKenzie said if he were responsible for creating punishments for property crimes, those crimes would be punished more severely. Judge McKenzie told Boles if he violates the law again that “the system will be here waiting for you and it won’t get any better.”
