open enrollment dates

Open enrollment for Medicare Part D began on October 15 and ends on December 7, 2011. Whether you need to compare different plans, choose other plans because your current plan is not renewing for 2011, we can help. You can receive more information or one-on-one assistance with choosing, comparing and enrolling in Medical and Drug coverage by calling 1-800-MEDICARE, visiting www. medicare.gov., or by contacting your county Senior Citizens Center and making an appointment to meet with a benefits counselor. You can also call SHIP toll free at 1-877-293-7447 for Senior Center dates and phone numbers. You may be able to save money, get better coverage or both. And make sure you take advantage of the new benefits for all people with Medicare–like wellness visits, preventative care and lower prescription drug costs. It’s worth it to take the time to review and compare. Medicare has resources to help. And remember–it’s earlier this year. Open enrollment ends on December 7.
