The Clinton County Lady Bulldogs only had one game on the schedule this week after falling out of the All “A” Classic Regional Tournament in the first round to Glasgow last Monday night.
On Saturday, the Lady Dawgs traveled to Logan County to take on the Lady Cougars who came into Saturday’s game with a 7-10 record.
Clinton County didn’t start the game in terrible shape as the team saw scoring from Cassie Thompson with two points, Braylee Mann with four points, and Abbi Young with a three pointer for nine total first quarter points.
Logan County finished the quarter with 13 total first quarter points to lead, 13-9.
The second quarter was a big one for the Lady Dawgs as the Lady Cougars’ defense held Clinton County to only five points for the entire eight minutes.
Landree Moons and Sara Turner each had a basket and Young knocked down a free throw for Clinton County’s second quarter points.
Logan County managed to again put up 13 for a halftime score of 26-14.
In the second half, Clinton County played Logan County almost point for point as both teams scored 17 points in the third quarter with Logan County scoring 17 in the final quarter and Clinton County scoring 16 in the fourth quarter.
By the time the final buzzer sounded, Clinton County had picked up the loss, 60-47.

Clinton County was back in action on Tuesday, too late for press deadline, to host Russell County. and will travel to Clay County on Friday with a junior varsity and varsity game at 3 p.m. They will travel to Campbellsville on Monday, January 27, for the first game in a girls/boys double-header to start at 5:30 p.m.
