Phyllis Amonett, front row, center, has recently been recognized for her efforts as a volunteer instructor with the local dance/exercise group based at the Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center. The Clinton County Retired Teachers Association has nominated Amonett, in recognition of her volunteer work with the group, for the Kentucky Retired Teachers Assocation’s Frank R. Hatfield Volunteer of the Year Award.

With the nomination, Amonett’s work will next be analyzed for its uniqueness of service against other nominees from the Association’s Middle Cumberland District ,which includes Clinton County along with Adair, Casey, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, and Wayne counties.

A reception honoring Amonett will be hosted by the Clinton County Retired Teachers Assocation at its March 3 meeting, slated to be held at Albany First Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m.
