My ‘Nan’, Peggy Murphy
Kimaya Sears
Everyone has their own opinion about different things, but my opinion is that my grandma, Peggy Murphy, is the best grandma in the world. She is always giving her love, devotion and so much more. She is actually not my biological grandma which in my opinion gives me a reason to love her even more because she accepted me and still loved me as much as she did her other grandchildren if not more. I call her Nan. She is the most caring, hardworking, and kindest person you will ever meet. My Nan, Peggy Murphy, truly deserves the Kentucky Grandparent of the Year award.
My Nan is caring. She puts food on our table and clothes on our backs. Every day after school, she gets my cousin and me a mocha frappe. She is always there to listen and to lend a helping hand. Her arms are always open to forgive me and love me no matter what I did wrong. Overall, my Nan, Peggy Murphy, is the most considerate person in history.
I never knew such a diligent person until I met my grandma. When she was out of high school, she went to nursing school. She had succeeded as a nurse for many years. Her occupation in the present day is taking care of an elderly woman. She works there every day of the week with days off once in a blue moon. My Nan always tries to work hard and to try her best so my brother and my cousin and I can live our best childhood.
My grandma is the literal definition of kind. She always has little ways to make me feel better about my life. When my brother, my cousin and I get out of school, she always asks how our day was. When I am sad, she gives me some advice and tries to help me with my problem or at least make me feel better. The best Nan ever, Peggy Murphy, is the kindest person I know.
My Nan is the perfect example of a caring, hardworking, and kind person. I could never ask for anything better than my Nan, Peggy Murphy. If she does not win I want her to know that she is still the best grandma in the entire world. Before I conclude this essay, I would like to say that I love my Nan with all my heart and if any person deserves the Kentucky Grandparent of the Year reward, then it would be my Nan.
