Don’t tell Overton Countians that you can’t fight city hall or the school district, as was the case Tuesday, March 10 when a large crowd made a showing at the Overton County Board of Education meeting to make their feelings known abut the removal of Lesley Riddle as girls’ basketball coach at Livingston Academy.

By the end of the week, Livingston Academy issued the following statement:

“After discussions and conversations between Director of Schools Dr. Mark Winnningham, LA Principal Richard Melton, and Coach Lesley Riddle about continued improvement in all aspects of the Livingston Academy girls’ basketball program, the decision has been made to reinstate Coach Riddle as Head Coach.

“Through adversity, each of us strives to grow and make professional improvements in order to benefit our students at LA, and we would like to let parents and our community know how much we appreciate their concern and well wishes for our school and our students. We are extremely proud of Livingston and Overton County, and we look forward to reuniting our Hog-Eye community.”
