Kroger Health and COVID-19 Testing
As the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, continues to spread, Kroger Health understands that testing has become essential to ensure the health of the population. Increased testing allows for identification of infected persons, which can improve treatment for all, as well as decrease the spread of illness by limiting potential unknown outbreaks in communities of all sizes.
At Kroger Health, our vision is to help people live healthier lives, by achieving our mission: to simplify healthcare. To simplify testing for COVID-19, Kroger Health has worked to fulfill this dire need in the community to ensure efficient, accurate testing – while keeping the community and staff protected from the spread of infection.
How does it work?
Determine if You Need Testing
Our virtual screening tool is based on CDC guidelines and designed to help you protect yourself and loved ones. If you are eligible for a test and near a location with a testing site, we will provide you the link to schedule an appointment.
The screening tool was also designed to help you protect yourself and your loved ones by providing vital education surrounding COVID-19, such as referring you to the emergency room or to call 911 if in serious distress.
Schedule an Appointment
Select a testing location and choose an appointment time that works for you.
Prepare for Your Test
You will receive an email confirmation of your appointment and directions for when you arrive, as well as a link to activate your patient portal. The patient portal will have pre-appointment paperwork to fill out before you arrive and will have your test results posted, as soon as they become available. Bring your photo ID with you (for example, driver’s license or passport) to your appointment.
Get Tested
Once you arrive to your appointment please have your photo ID ready and leave your window rolled up. We will view your ID, check you in, and one of our healthcare practitioners will bring the kit to your car for you to complete the test.
Receive Results
Our goal is to provide you with quick results; we will provide you an estimate of the turnaround time for results on the day of your test. If your test is positive for COVID-19, the local health department and a Kroger Health clinician will call you to inform you. If your results are negative, you will be able to view them on our patient portal as soon as the results are received.
