James Weldon Wright, 86, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at The Medical Center of Bowling Green in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

He was of the Baptist Faith, a member of the Mt. Pisgah United Baptist Church, a custodian at the Cumberland County Hospital, and a dairy farmer for 28 years.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Grace Davidson Stailey, Ruby (Ervin) Arms, Roy (Grace) Wright, Lois Capshaw Wright, Kenneth Wright.

He is survived by his wife, Vestelene (Wray) Wright; children, Connie (Gary) White, Danny (Lesia) Wright, James Weldon “Jay” (Tammy) Wright, Jr., Justin A. Wright, all of Burkesville, Kentucky, and Carol (Franklin) Martin of Hardyville, Kentucky; a sister, Linda (Nathan) Basil of Glasgow, Kentucky.

The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, May 23, 2020 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Thomas Smith and Bro. Jeff Flowers officiating.

Burial was in the Bow School House Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to The Bow School House Cemetery Fund, 1828 State Park Road, Burkesville, Ky. 42717 in his memory.
