Another citizen complaint led to the discovery of two meth labs on Friday, November 4 on Spann Hill Road. UNITE was assisted at the scene by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.
If you suspect meth labs or meth activity, or if you notice plastic soda bottles with tubing coming out of the top, peeled batteries or soda bottles with strong chemical odors in your neighborhood, call 911 immediately and leave information for UNITE detectives.

When Violet Trueblood noticed that her mailbox was gone as she left for work early on Tuesday, November 1, she thought she was the victim of a Halloween prank. But she would find out later that what occurred at her house late on October 31 or early on November 1 was much more than a prank.
“I came out and I noticed the mailbox was gone…It was dark and I didn’t notice anything else,” said Trueblood.
When her son came to replace the mailbox, he found that parts of her residence had been spray painted red, including the white garage doors, the porch posts and the shutters on the house. Trueblood said the doors on her home, which is located on Highway 1258, were also spray painted.
Trueblood also said that a 1978 Cougar, parked near the home, was vandalized and spray painted.
The incidents occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on October 31 and 6 a.m. on November 1, according to Trueblood. She noted that she has two dogs but neither of them barked to indicate anything was wrong.
Wayne County Sheriff Charles Boston said there were no incidents like this reported in the area.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
In an effort to help officials solve this case, Trueblood is offering a reward to anyone with information that would lead to the arrest of the person or persons involved.
Anyone with information should contact the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office or Trueblood at (606) 307-6028.
