Lake Cumberland Area Response to Opioids in Rural Communities (A-ROC) Planning Consortium

Last year the Lake Cumberland Area Response to Opioids in Rural Communities (A-ROC) Planning Consortium was formed for the purpose of addressing the Opioid epidemic which is causing havoc across the Lake Cumberland area and throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency, Inc., the recipient of a Health Resources and Services Administration Rural Communities Opioids Response Program (RCORP) Planning grant, along with Lake Cumberland Area Development District, Inc., The Adanta Group, and Lake Cumberland District Health Department form the core membership of the A-ROC Consortium; other members include various community partners including the faith community, law enforcement, workforce development, substance use disorder treatment providers, health care providers, emergency medical technicians, early childhood education, and those personally affected by Opioid/Substance Use Disorder.

The Lake Cumberland area is under attack by the opioid epidemic, but it is also an area with concerned citizens who are ready to “fight the good fight”. The fight includes reducing overdose deaths in our communities.

So, we celebrate August 31, 2020, International Overdose Awareness Day #End Overdose #Overdose A Silent Killer #No More Stigma. No More Shame.
