The Kentucky State Police (KSP) awarded the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon to raffle ticket winner, Clayton Sandlin of Knott County. Sandlin received the keys from KSP Commissioner, Rodney Brewer at the KSP Training Academy in Frankfort on September 8. Sandlin won the vehicle in a raffle held by KSP on August 30 through a Facebook live announcement.

Each year KSP sells raffle tickets to raise funds to support Trooper Island, a free summer camp for underprivileged boys and girls aged 10-12 operated by KSP on Dale Hollow Lake in Clinton County. It is financed entirely by donations, no public funds are used. The camp hosts approximately 800 children each summer, providing good food, fresh air, recreation, guidance and structured, esteem building-activities designed to build good citizenship and positive relationships with law enforcement officers. Due to COVID-19, a virtual camp format was utilized this summer.

The raffle raised $212,000 for the camp selling a record number of 27,431 raffle tickets.
