A second local farmer, Michial H. Conner, became the fifth person running in a four-person board of supervisors election last week, when he filed papers with Clinton County Clerk Nathan Collins to officially join the race as a write-in candidate.
In the race for the Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors, four candidates are to be elected to that board in the General Election to be held November 3, 2020.
When the filing deadline passed in order to appear on the ballot, only three candidates had filed for the local supervisory board, including Kathy C. Conner, James Gregory Abston and Roger Beard.
Only candidates who have filed the proper papers to become official write-in candidates will have their votes counted in the November 3, 2020 election.
There could be additional candidates to join the race as the deadline to file the necessary write-in paperwork with his office is October 23, at 4:00 p.m. CDT.
