A rain drenched U.S. 127 Sunday afternoon paved the route for the funeral procession of Charles “Chuck” Stockton, 59, who passed away last week following a brief illness.

A long-time employee of the Clinton County Emergency Services for 42 years, he had worked most recently and was best known as a full-time dispatcher with the DES. He had also worked as a member of ambulance crews with the EMS and had begun his career in that field in 1978, on an ambulance crew with Brown-Haddix Funeral Home, later going to work for Transcare when the company took over the local ambulance business in 1987.

Following the funeral Sunday afternoon for Stockton, the funeral processession, which included vehicles from every Albany and Clinton County Emergency Services division, drove to the Clinton County Dispatch Center, circled the building before proceeding to Peolia Cemetery for the burial services.
